• Lilies

    Various Lilies (including Easter lilies, tiger lilies, and day lilies) are toxic.  Principal toxin is unknown and is found in all parts of the plant including the pollen.  Toxicosis only occurs in cats.  The toxin causes acute renal failure secondary to acute tubular necrosis.  Symptoms include vomiting, anorexia and lethargy initially.  Prognosis is guarded and highly dependant on when treatment is initiated.
