• Yews

    Numerous Taxus species are in this group and they occur throughout the United States.  They are also often used as hedges and can grow up to 75 feet high depending on the species.  All parts of the plant are toxic.  Death may be so rapid that no clinical signs occur.  Vomiting and neurologic signs are most common in dogs.  Prognosis is guarded if signs appear.
