We know that your pets are like members of your family, and that is why Northshore Animal Hospital offers you a safe, secure, home away from home for your dog or cat when you can’t be there for them during the day or for several days and nights. You can feel confident knowing that your pet will receive individualized attention, supervision by an experienced kennel staff, and access to one of our veterinarians should the need arise.
Our indoor boarding kennel is housed in a clean, climate-controlled facility and can accommodate dogs as well as cats. We maintain separate quarters for dogs and cats to ensure that all visitors will have a relaxing and pleasant stay. Each canine has a spacious indoor kennel that allows for freedom of movement as well as resting. Our canine lodgers are taken outside at least three times a day Monday through Saturday to exercise and take care of business, and twice a day on Sunday.
We provide everything needed for your pet’s stay including beds, blankets, and food. We do allow blankets, toys, and treats from home if pet parents choose to bring them. We provide Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Diet, a choice specially formulated for sensitive stomachs; however, you may bring in your own diets and treats if you prefer. Our kennel staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarians will be alerted if any problems are noted. Patients who are boarding and require medications will receive their meds according to the instructions we receive.
Proof of vaccinations is needed upon arrival. If current vaccinations cannot be confirmed, we will be happy to catch them up to date while they are with us. Additionally, all pets must be free of fleas, ticks and internal parasites. If treatment is required for any of these conditions, it will be performed at the owner’s expense.
After an extended stay, to ensure that your pet goes home fresh and clean, we recommend a bath on the day of discharge. There is an additional fee for a bath.
Drop off and check out time for all boarding and daycare guests is between 8 am and 5 pm Monday – Friday. Check out time for all boarders picking up on Saturday is between 8 am and 12 noon. Sunday pick-ups for boarding guests will require an additional fee and preapproved pick up time.
